Artists Unite for a Common Cause
I found out about an interesting program recently that I would like to talk about. Although this post is not strictly about drums and percussion instruments, the scope of the program touches artists of all kinds including drummers and percussionists.
The “Art is {Hope}” program is an initiative of Hope for the Nations, which is a charitable organization dedicated to helping “Children at Risk” in developing countries. War, poverty, and child trafficking adversely affect the lives of these children. Hope for the Nations works to rescue the children by giving them a better future.
The mission statement of the Art is {Hope} program is as follows: “A movement of Artists which is raising awareness and resources for orphans and vulnerable children through Hope for the Nations.” The objective of the program is to prompt artists from many disciplines to raise awareness of the plight of children at risk. Artists can do this in a variety of ways including fund raising, being a “champion” for a specific cause, and using their art to spread the message.
If you are an emerging or established artist in fields such as music, visual and performing arts, fashion, media, photography, and literary arts, you are invited to join the program. Art can be a powerful means to raise awareness and present a message. This is an opportunity for artists to unite for a common cause and help build a future for children who would otherwise have no hope.
