Hi-Hat Cymbals
Hi-hat (or hihat) cymbals are most often found as part of a drum kit. A hi-hat cymbal set consists of two cymbals mounted one above the other on a hi-hat stand. These cymbals are usually smaller and heavier than crash cymbals, and are used to maintain a steady pattern much like a ride cymbal. The hi-hat stand mechanism also allows for open and closed cymbal effects ranging from short muted, to longer sustained sounds.Different weights, designs, and sizes of hi-hat cymbals are available, enabling drummers to choose the right models for their musical preferences. For example, some hi-hat cymbals are made specifically for rock music, while others are more suited to jazz styles. The large selection of different models ensures that cymbals are available to satisfy any player requirements.
