This is the Agean Custom Brilliant Series 14 inch Hi-hat Regular Cymbal Set. Custom Brilliant Series cymbals are hand-hammered and finished using old techniques resulting in a highly polished appearance. They utilize a time-honoured B20 bronze alloy formula consisting of 80 percent copper and 20 percent tin. The custom tempering, shaping, hand-hammering, hand-lathing, and finishing results in a warm and full sound with mild overtones. It was specifically created for Rock and Pop music.

Agean Cymbals is a small and innovative custom cymbal manufacturer located in Turkey, the birthplace of the cymbal. A small number of cymbal masters produce cymbals of exceptional quality, each made according to professional standards. Each cymbal is made by hand, utilizing the traditional methods that have set Turkish cymbals apart from the usual mass-produced, machine-made versions often seen on the market. As an authorized dealer of Agean Cymbals, we import them directly from the Agean workshop in Turkey.

Agean cymbals are totally handcrafted by highly trained master cymbal smiths. They use closely guarded bronze formulations to produce raw cymbal blanks. The bronze blanks are tempered by repeated heating, thus changing the molecular structure. This results in increased durability and musical quality. The blanks are then pressed into shape and hand-hammered to produce the shape, size, and thickness for the desired cymbal type.

For some cymbals, it may take thousands of hammer hits to produce the optimum shape and sound. The rough cymbals are then lathed (or not in some cases) and finished according to the requirements of each cymbal series. After sound testing, each cymbal is individually signed by the cymbal smiths who created it.
