Tuneable frame drums are highly versatile. They consist of a shallow wood frame with a single drumhead mounted on one side and none on the other. The drumheads are tuneable by the use of an internal tuning mechanism, which allows the drummer to keep them in tune when ambient conditions change. Tuneable frame drums come in a variety of sizes, each capable of producing its own unique range of tones from deep resonant bass sounds, to the higher-pitched tones achieved by hitting the drumhead near the rim.

This would create an entirely new and unique sound for the drummer, not to mention the fact that frame drums are much more portable.
