The Cajinto Solo makes a shining impression by combining the cajon sound with the succinct pitches of a quinto. The partially screwed playing surface makes it possible to produce razor-sharp slaps by using the typical conga playing technique. By loosening the screws, these slaps can be intensified with a typical cajon wood-smacking effect!
The resonance box is made of seven layers of alder wood, while the playing surface consists of beech wood. Additionally, it has snare spirals that contact the playing surface. Optimally positioned, the snare spirals produce a clear and distinctive snare sound.
Thanks to Schlagwerk's 2inOne snare spiral design, the snare effect can also be removed by adjusting the snare spirals, making this cajinto capable of producing entirely different sounds. It truly is two drums in one. The resonance box and playing surface have a natural finish that lets the beauty of the wood show through, and the cajinto has a refreshing and interesting design.
Schlagwerk's attention to detail, skilled craftsmanship, and innovation are reflected in all their products. Their cajintos are no exception. For more than 25 years, Schlagwerk Percussion has been intensively developing their products, which have gained worldwide recognition. The instruments that belong to the cajon family (cajones, cajintos, and yambus) enchant us with soft wooden playing surfaces and produce all the nuances of modern percussion sounds, ranging from high, assertive characteristics to voluminous bass sounds.
The Cajinto Solo is a professional, unique, and versatile drum that can be used in many musical settings. In Roland Peil's own words, it is, "Phat like an L.A. Snare or crisp like a Rumba Quinto, the cajinto is my all-in-one box! Whether with rods, brushes, or hands, it always speaks its own language."
The Cajinto Solo can be played by holding it between the knees while sitting, or it can be mounted on a stand. The optional cajinto adapter plate can be used to mount the drum on a conventional snare drum stand. Additionally, the cajinto can be mounted on the optional cajinto floor stand to provide a secure base for playing. Please see our listings for both the cajinto adapter plate and floor stand.
Note: The Cajinto Floor Stand (black stand) shown in the photograph for this listing is not included with this item.
