This is Schlagwerk's Cajon la Peru Cosmic. The resonance box is made of seven layers of exotic gabon wood, while the playing surface has a cosmic burl veneer. This combination of woods gives the Cosmic model punchy bass and extremely present high tones. The resonance box has a natural finish that lets the beauty of the wood show through. The Cajon la Peru Cosmic with a burl playing surface draws the eye. The gabon wood resonance box ensures that this exceptionally beautiful instrument also brings that rich punch typical of Schlagwerk to the stage.

Schlagwerk's attention to detail, skilled craftsmanship, and innovation are reflected in all their products. Their cajones are no exception. For more than 25 years, Schlagwerk Percussion has been intensively developing the cajon, which has become one of the most popular rhythm instruments. In designing their cajones, they combined traditional Cuban and Peruvian construction forms with some ideas of their own.

The instruments that belong to the cajon family (cajones, cajintos, and yambus) enchant us with soft wooden playing surfaces and produce all the nuances of modern percussion sounds, ranging from high, assertive characteristics to voluminous bass sounds. The net result is a professional, unique, and versatile drum that can be used in many musical settings.

The Cajon la Peru is known throughout the world for its high-quality construction and acoustic properties. Its reputation is well deserved, as this is an incredible musical instrument. It is designed in the fashion of the Peruvian cajon, having internal snare strings that rest against the inside of the playing surface. The special construction form and clever interior design give this instrument its unmistakably unique bass and snare sounds, which are remarkably similar to an authentic drum sound. The addition of protective "feet" on the bottom serves to guard the cajon from damage while playing.

The Cajon la Peru (also known as the "Rumba Box") is very versatile. In addition to its use in traditional Latin American music, it can also supplement or even replace the drums in other styles of music. In short, cajones can be played anywhere and everywhere.

There are several models of Cajon la Peru, each with its own unique sound properties. Although all models are of the same dimensions, different combinations of wood are used in both the resonance box, and the playing surface. This gives each model of Cajon la Peru the ability to produce a different range of sounds.

Includes a cajon pad that provides the optimal cushion to make sitting on the cajon more comfortable.
